A traditional English country inn run by Paula Gurney offering excellent food, local ales and comfortable accommodation.

The Bottle and Glass Inn, which was originally a farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century, was granted its first license as an alehouse in 1837.

The "Bottle" has the unique features of an English country inn. Low ceilings, ancient oak beams, local ales and open wood fires that burn throughout the year.

Chef's soup of the day with crusty bread

Homemade duck spring rolls with a sweet plum sauce

Field mushrooms stuffed with ratatouille and topped with mozzarella

Homemade chicken liver pate with melba toast and red onion marmalade

Smoked salmon and prawn cocktail with chopped avocado served with granary bread

Bubble & squeak topped with poached egg crispy bacon and hollandaise sauce

Seafood crepes topped with parmesan cheese and served with a baby leaf salad

 

Main Courses

Half roast duckling with black cherry & orange compote finished with haggis and black pudding

Roast rump of lamb on a bed of bubble & squeak topped with a rich lamb jus

Calves liver & bacon on a bed of horseradish mashed potato topped with a red wine sauce

Pot roast pheasant with sauté potatoes and a bacon, wild mushroom and whisky sauce

Oven baked cod with dauphinoise potatoes, braised savoy cabbage and a salmon & dill sauce

Pan fried sea bass fillets with lemon & dill mashed potato topped with hollandaise sauce

All served with seasonal vegetables

Poached chicken galantine stuffed with mozzarella, parma ham, sun blushed tomatoes & spinach on a crisp caesar salad

8oz Home made burger topped with bacon, field mushrooms, tomato and egg with salad
